A 7th Heaven Hi and Goodbye (November 2002, E! Online)

A Hip Hop, Skip and a Jumped Ship: Hollywood's been abuzz all month about the holiday shindig of the year--the Motorola party. The ultrafab festivities, headlined by Missy Elliot, attracted the likes of Christina Aguilera, Anna Nicole Smith, Demi Moore and Alyssa Milano (still not doing press, FYI). But it was a certain WB star who took center stage with his mad stylings: Simon from 7th Heaven. Testify, Reverend!

After Missy finished her set, all eyes were on David Gallagher (aka Simon), as he showed off his best break-dance and hip-hop moves surrounded by a grip of scantily clad women who cheered him along. "I do hip-hop as a hobby," Gallagher cooed. "I know all of the Missy Elliot video moves."

Amusing, yes, but not as amusing as the little nugget David busted my way. When asked if he thinks the show will last much longer, he told me, "If it does, it goes on without me. After this season, I go to college."

So it seems Simon will be leaving the Camden nest. Still, David added that he could be up for a few eps in the summer, like his costar Jessica Biel. "There are opportunities there, it's just whether or not it happens."

When asked about what's coming up, he said with a sigh, "It's just all girlfriend drama with Ashlee Simpson. Over and over and over again. That's it."

Could there be an engagement in the works? After all, everyone else but Ruthie has done it. "I know," he said with an ever slight eye roll. "It's a little ridiculous."

Yep. Sounds like that whole college thing is coming at juuusst the right time.
